 Decades in the making!

The awesome limited-edition Graphic Novel series like none other, featuring the Rhythmistic: Future-Primitif Hero, like no other, NOG: The Nubian of Greatness and Protector of the Pyramides.  "The War For Planet NUBA!"

Published by ONLI STUDIOS! Introduced and created by Prof. Turtel Onli in 1979, long before the trending of "Afrofuturism" or "Black Lives Matters"! NOG is vital to the protection of a Black Planet instead of hiding a small nation or dealing with the persistence of oppression.

NOG opened the door to the growing, open, forward thinking, and inclusive Black Age of Comics genre where one does not have to be Black to get ones' Black Age on!

NOG is definitely not a tribute to slavery or injustice.  NOG is not about the seductiveness of racial or generational re-traumatization.

NOG is the brilliance of Rhythmistic fantasy & sci-fi that goes beyond the limited orthodoxy of the mainstream.

NOG is not perfect, but NOG is perfect for you!

Place your orders via www.onlistudios.com per our Graphic Novels Tab. Free shipping int he USA.  It comes sealed in archival plastic with our over-sized limited edition Trading Cards.

All in appreciation for your luv and participation in the Rhythmistic Indie Evolution!

The above is a link to the Afrofuturist Comics Collection at the San Diego State University Library.  A tremendous resource.

This link is to an ever-cool time-lapse video of Prof. Onli painting a Rhythmistic treatment of NOG at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Noted cartoonist like Chris Ware were overwhelmed in watching Onli do his Rhythmistic thing live, to the music of The Coltranes. (As in Alice & John Coltrane.)

"NOG" is so much the long running manifestation of ONLI STUDIOS LLC's approach and innovations in this dynamic industry!

Collaboration & Anthologies

Collaboration and Anthologies matter because they foster a sense of community among creators and provide a platform for emerging talents. Collaborative projects allow artists and writers to pool their skills and create compelling works that showcase different perspectives and art styles.

Anthologies provide readers with curated collections of stories. This introduces them to a variety of creators and promoting artistic diversity within the indie comic book scene.

Diverse Representation

Diverse Representation

Everyone deserves the spotlight behind the hero's mask. Diverse Representation matters because it promotes inclusivity and provides a platform for underrepresented voices to be heard.

Comics featuring diverse characters and exploring various identities challenge stereotypes, foster empathy, and connect readers with relatable narratives.

Cross-Genre Exploration

Cross-Genre Exploration

Cross-Genre Exploration is vital because it pushes the boundaries of storytelling and breaks free from the constraints of traditional genre conventions. By blending elements from different genres, indie creators can offer fresh and unique narratives that captivate audiences, keeping the medium vibrant and exciting.

This trend encourages innovation, attracts diverse readership, and expands the possibilities of storytelling within the comic book medium.

Recent feedback from Australia:

 Hi Turtel.

Sorry I've taken so long to reply to your email.

I first learned about NOG back in the early 1980s when I read a review of it in "The Comics Journal".

The name and the artwork stuck in my head, but I never thought I'd ever get a chance to read NOG as it was an independent title and I lived in Australia - no internet then, just unreliable mail service. ðŸ™‚
Flash-forward to last month and I receive the most recent issue of ROCKTOBER magazine (which came out in 2021, I think). I'm flicking through the pages and I see an ad for NOG!!!

I was so excited that I went to your website immediately and ordered a copy - it was great to learn that the graphic novel (and sequels) were available as PDFs, because postage costs to Australia are prohibitive.

Anyway, that's how I discovered NOG and I'm thrilled to finally have the chance to read it (and the sequels). It was only 40 years, but it was worth the wait. ðŸ™‚

All the best,
Dann

CHICAGO- Comics haters and lovers quietly agree that rare, hard to find, limited edition, innovative, ground breaking and unique comic books are of the best value to collectors and the secondary markets. With "NOG: The Protector of the Pyramides" they have a limited edition Dymaxion comic book. The first comix character to feature the ever-cool Dreadlocked energized hair do. NOG boldly defends a Black planet known to legend as Planet NUBA. Not shyly hiding a country.

Its Rhythmistic Future-Primitif design, narrative art and ode story telling mode contributed to the foundation of indie publishing and the decades later trending of Afrofuturism. Created in 1978 and published in 1981. It was celebrated at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Those comics haters & lovers want to keep this their as their precious secret until they move to cash in on it.
